Last year while watching the Biggest Loser and starting to workout more, I decided that I wanted my goal for 2013 was to be able to walk a 5k. My hope was to be able to go down to Reno and walk with Ward and Lancette. After months of training, I hopped on a plane on March 21st and flew down to Reno!!! For those of you who don't know Ward and Lancette are some very special friends of mine, whom I known for 19 years. Ward was my PT in middle and part of high school. After they moved to Reno we kept in touch, and they are very dear to me!!!

The night that I got to Reno we took an adventure up to Squaw Valley, where they were have a "Welcoming Home" party for the local Olympians. I got to see Jonny Moseley, Julia Mancuso, Even Strong, and a few others. After the ceremony we went "back stage" and got Jonny and Even autograph and picture taken with them. -
On Sunday was the 5k!! At 2:00 we went up to the marina in Sparks. When we got there Lancette's parents were waiting for us. Lancette told me that there wasn't an official 5k so they made one up, Team Bri 5k was created!! A bunch of Ward's co-workers showed up!! Lancette told me that Ward made posters and posted them at work for people to join us!! A very special friend of mine, Sabrina, also showed up. Sabrina is a PT who does a very different type of therapy. I met her 10 years ago when I first went to Reno.
The 5k was a lot of fun. we all walked our own pace. I walked with Lancette, her parents, Amber and Derick, and a co-worker from Ward's work. I can't remember how long it took us, but we FINISHED!!!! Afterwards Ward had "Team Bri" medals for everyone!! I couldn't ask for anything different!!! It was perfect!!!!
