Happy Holidays
I have been living at Wild Horse Canyon, for 10 months now. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Summer was very busy. We had over 18,000 people come to the propriety. During June and July, high school kids came to camp for 7 days for"The best week of their lives." During the week they have club every night. During these clubs they are presented with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and learned what he did for them. At the end of the week, the can give their lives to Jesus. It is amazing how one week can change these kids life forever. This past summer WHC had the biggest Young Life camp ever, 659 campers and leaders in one week. There are also high school and college students, who come for the summer to help serve the campers. During August, middle school kids come for five days. We also had a group of Young Lives campers. Young Lives is for high school girls and their children. It was fun to see all the little babies around camp.
The Mark 2 ladies give their time volunteering out at WHC. This past summer we took care of the Volunteer Condos. This is were volunteer who come to camp stay. WHC is building a new A
dult Guest Lodge. They hired contractors from across the state to come build. Since WHC is such a remote place, an hour from the nearest town, the contractors have to stay here during the week. The Mark 2 ladies help clean the condos where these men stay. The Mark 2 ladies get to show these men who Jesus is, by serving them, and giving them a nice place to stay. There are also a lot of other jobs that the ladies help out with during the year. They make cookies for the campers, clean the Club Room, deliver food baskets to the assignment teams, welcome the campers.
In September, my dad and step mom came to Oregon for a week. We stayed at the ocean. It was my first time to see the ocean. We went to a lighthouse, had great seafood, and my dad went halibut fishing in the ocean. Then we drove about two hours down the coast.
Mark 2 also got the opportunity to go White-water rafting down the Deshutes River in July. I was very nervous about the trip. It took my roommates awhile to convince me that it would be a great time. This was a great time for me to let go and trust the Lord, by the day of the trip I was very excited. Getting in the boat was the hardest part, but after we started to float away I felt safe and really enjoyed myself.

I also became an aunt for the 3rd time. My brother, Jason, had a baby girl in August Sophie Layne. During Thanksgiving, I went to SD to see her. She is so beautiful, and I'm so in love with her. I also got to spend time with Baylie and Jax. We went bowling with all the kids. I miss all of them so much. I love being an aunt!!!
It has been a great year of new adventures and growing in the Lord. I never imagined myself working at Young Life Camp. I have seen the awesome work, God can do when we put our trust in him. I hope all of you have a wonderful season and a great 2008. I can't wait to see what God does in the next year!!!
